Causes of Hemorrhoids Revealed

Many factors contribute to causing hemorrhoids, and all of them have a role in one way or the other in this condition. Learning the causes of hemorrhoids is a great way to prepare one’s self to treat and eliminate hemorrhoids if they appear.

The first thing you should know when treating hemorrhoids is to understand exactly what a hemorrhoid is. Everyone in the world has them and don’t realize it until they start to experience problems with them. A hemorrhoid is a swollen or inflamed vein in your rectum. There are internal and external hemorrhoids. Many people who suffer from hemorrhoids usually have external hemorrhoids.

The most usual causes of hemorrhoids are by straining yourself when going to the bathroom. When you proceed to push extremely hard you will apply way to much pressure on the veins in your rectum. So to eliminate hemorrhoids you need not to apply pressure when going to the bathroom. Don’t force yourself to go, let it come out naturally. You also can add to much pressure on the veins by sitting to much, having diarrhea, being over weight, pregnancy, and having sex. These all can create too much pressure as well causing hemorrhoids. If you need to sit for long periods of time you should get up and stretch every chance you have to alleviate the pressure down there. By practicing this tip you will take the pressure of your rectum veins.

Hemorrhoids will get worst the older you get. As your anal veins age they become weaker and this will cause them to swell and get irritated faster. Most of these factors however can be avoided by practicing good hygiene. But some we won’t have any control over.

Lifestyle changes form one category of avoidance for hemorrhoids. Included in these are obesity, anal intercourse, and constipation. Having anal sex is not wise for people with hemorrhoids. Also, being overweight can really strain the rectal and anal area and can cause hemorrhoids, as can being constipated by not having good eating habits. A good, balanced diet will allow one to have softer stools that can help keep someone from straining themselves. These together are basic, common sense ways to help with this condition.

Another one of the main causes of hemorrhoids is medications. There are certain medications out today that will cause you to become constipated and this leads to added pressure on the veins in the rectum. If you are prone to get hemorrhoid flare ups easy then you want to avoid medicines that cause constipation. For pain I would recommend using plain Tylenol. Most of all your pain killers will cause constipation. This is why most doctors wont prescribe pain killers for hemorrhoids because they do more damage than good.

Learning how to treat the causes of hemorrhoids will help someone keep these painful occurrences under control; as with many other health-related issues, a healthy diet full of fruits, vegetables, and whole-grain foods will help immensely, as will regular exercise and lots of fluids taken in daily. By doing this, and the other tasks mentioned in this article, a person can rid him or herself from this painful and uncomfortable condition known as hemorrhoids.
