Basic First Aid

Did you know that heart related illness followed by strokes and accidents are the biggest killers in the world today?

While you can’t necessarily predict the unexpected, you can learn about basic first aid scenarios so that you know what to do. Though you might see televisions shows and read books about medical dramas that include complicated injuries and diseases, chances are slim that you will ever need this level of expertise. However, there are occasions in your life where just a little prior knowledge may save lives.

Ask yourself these questions:

* Your child began to choke. Would you be able to help or you would make the situation worse by slapping them on the back?
* Your relative or neighbour had a Heart Attack, would you help? Or you would just stand there and watch helplessly.
* You were the first to arrive at scene of an accident and someone was severely bleeding and slowly loosing consciousness, would you straight away get involved and provide life saving First aid treatment to the casualty? Or, you would just start shouting “oh my God…, Oh my God…..”
